Ah but Ren and Stimpy was made in was made in the late 80's or so. That can hardly be classified as modern. And Tom and Jerry has been around even longer then that! It was on when my dad was a kid and he's a geezer! How can one say that that is modern? Surely one cannot assume that violence in cartoon was only viewed by this generation, cartoons and slapstick humor have been around for decades! Not to mention, in the course of history. Because I can go in any book and find ALL SORTS of violence. Surely that cannot be considered nonviolent.
